Zip-Front Split Column Dress
Zip-Front Split Column Dress
A black sleeveless column with one idea in it: a long gold metal zip set into a seam that runs down the front from the chest to below the knee, and opens into a split to mid-thigh. The zip is the design and the only ornament on the dress — a metal-toothed zip with a large pull, filed in the photographs as brass against matte black cloth. The collar stands up from the neckline; the listing files 领型=青果领, a shawl collar, which is not what the frames show, so this entry follows the frames and calls it a stand collar. The body is cut straight (裙型=一步裙) in a matte jersey, unlined, single layer, with no bust padding (内置胸垫=否). Two things are worth saying plainly. The stall prints its own brand, O’DRESSY, on the listing, which is unusual here: it is a supplier house label and this entry does not dress it up as anything else. And five sizes are filed, S to XXL — the widest run in this batch — while the colour field names black, red and white but only black is ever photographed, so red and white are sold on the stall’s word. The title promises 弹力, stretch; the composition field files polyester alone with no elastane percentage, so the stretch stays a claim rather than a specification.

One zip, done properly
A zip that runs the front of a dress takes the whole length of the seam with it, so the cloth either hangs from it cleanly or pulls beside it. The photographs show a metal zip with a set-in seam allowance rather than a lapped one — the more expensive way to do it, and the reason the split opens flat instead of rippling.
Five sizes and one photographed colour
The size run goes to XXL, which almost nothing else in this batch does, but the listing photographs only the black. If red or white matters to the order, ask for a sample photograph before the run rather than after.
Why we chose it
Because a plain black column with a real metal zip is the easiest evening dress to sell in a size run that reaches XXL, and nothing else in this batch goes past L.
Care
- Cool machine wash inside out with the zip closed, or hand wash; the jersey is unlined so it dries flat without a shape.
- Press on the reverse and keep the iron off the zip tape — a hot iron melts the teeth’s coating and stiffens the run.
- Zip it shut before hanging; an open metal zip on a long seam will pull the cloth off grain.
