Colour

A knit dress is the hardest kind to get right: too fine and it clings, too thick and it stops being a dress at all. This one is brushed, so the surface has a halo to it rather than a shine, and it is cut as a wrap — the front crosses over at the chest, a ribbed band takes the waist in, and below that the skirt opens into a flare that swings when you walk. The sleeves are long and slim and the neck is a deep V, which is what makes it work under a coat without a scarf. It comes in six colourways, from a raw beige to an obsidian black, and the stall photographs all of them on the same model in the same room. The title claims pure wool; no percentage is printed, so we quote it as the stall’s claim.

A wrap that never comes undone

On a woven dress a wrap is tied and can slip. Knitted as one piece, the crossing is fixed: the front panel is simply longer and the waist band is ribbed, so the wrap is a shape rather than a fastening. That is why there is no belt, no button and no zip on this dress.

Brushed, so it reads soft at a distance

The fibre has been raised after knitting, which gives the surface a fine halo and softens every colour on it: the red reads as brick and the violet as a faded lilac rather than as pure pigment. It also means the dress will bloom slightly with wear and settle after the first wash.

Grey is in the photographs, not in the shop

The stall’s gallery includes two frames of a grey version of this dress, and grey is not one of the six colours it sells. We have left those frames out rather than show a colour nobody can order — the six frames published here match the six colour names on the listing.

Details

  • Colour: Raw beige · Raw camel · Golden camel · Soft violet · Obsidian black · Red
  • Size: S · M · L · XL, as the stall lists it. Chest, waist and length DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED
  • Material: The stall’s title claims 100% 羊毛 (wool) and the word appears eight times on the listing, but no percentage, no weight and no test is published anywhere. Composition DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED
  • Fit: A wrap front crossing at the chest, a fitted ribbed waist and a flared midi skirt, with long slim sleeves and a deep V at the neck

Care

  • A brushed wool knit is washed by hand in cool water with a wool detergent, then dried flat and reshaped while damp — a midi dress holds a lot of water and will stretch on a line.
  • Fold it rather than hanging it: on a hanger the wrap front pulls the whole dress out of shape at the shoulder.
  • The stall publishes no care label with this listing, so this is what the fibre behaves like rather than what a label says. Treat it as wool until a label arrives.

Why we chose it

Because a wrap dress knitted in one piece is a shape no fastening can imitate, and because the stall photographed every colourway on the same model in the same room instead of recolouring a single frame.

One piece is fine. Buy a single piece at the price shown, or ask for a trade quote from ten units — written by a person, never read off a table.
