This is the silk shirt as a basic rather than a statement: cut loose enough to wear out over trousers, straight to the hem, with a collar soft enough to roll where it meets the placket and single-button cuffs. The silk reading comes from the stall’s own attribute data, which names 桑蚕丝 as the main fibre at 95%以上 and names 桑蚕丝 a second time as the second fibre — one of the few listings in this market that publishes a figure instead of an adjective. What it does not publish is the weight of the cloth or a test report, so momme stays open, and it publishes no measurements at all, so the four sizes are given as the stall gives them and nothing more. Five colours are listed and five were photographed, four of them on the model and the white on a hanger.

A figure, not an adjective

Most listings here say 真丝 and stop. This one fills in the attribute fields: main fibre 桑蚕丝 at 95%以上, second fibre 桑蚕丝 as well. That is the strongest silk declaration this market has produced for us, and it is still only a declaration — no momme weight, no test report — so the fibre stays as printed and the weight of the cloth stays DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED.

Five colours, five photographed

Plenty of listings list ten colourways and photograph three. This one lists five — white, pink, blue-grey, light coffee and black — and has a frame for every one of them, four on the model and the white on a hanger. Nothing here is a colour we would have to guess at, which is also why we only offer five.

The collar rolls instead of standing

There is no interlining holding the collar up. It rolls where it meets the placket, which is why the shirt reads easy rather than formal when it is worn open, and why the top button can stay undone without the collar collapsing into a V. The hem is curved and meant to sit outside a waistband.

  • Fit: Loose through the body and straight to the hem, with a soft collar that rolls where it meets the placket, a button front and single-button cuffs

Care

  • Dry clean it, or wash it by hand in cool water with a pH-neutral soap. Never wring silk — press the water out flat in a towel.
  • Iron it on the reverse while it is still slightly damp, on the silk setting. Silk that has dried out completely takes a crease that is hard to lift.
  • Store it on a hanger rather than folded. Silk keeps the memory of a fold, and it shows on a plain shirt.

Why we chose it

Because it is the plainest thing silk can be — a loose shirt with a collar that rolls — and because the stall published a fibre figure of ninety-five per cent or more instead of the usual adjective, and photographed all five of the colours it lists.
