Sheepskin Strap-Cuff Glove
Sheepskin Strap-Cuff Glove
A glove is a small object and it is looked at closely, so the detail that counts here is the wrist. It closes on a stitched strap with a small metal buckle rather than an elastic cuff, which means it can be set to the hand instead of gripping it — and which is the only ornament on an otherwise plain glove. The leather is what the maker calls 头层真羊皮毛, first-layer sheepskin used with its wool side in, and the lining is described as 加绒加厚, a thickened fleece. We have not yet been able to verify the tannery or the lining with the maker, so the leather is given as the maker describes it and the lining stays DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED. This is a glove works that has been making gloves in Yiwu since 1993. Five colourways, three sizes — M, L and XL.
The strap is the whole detail
A stitched band crosses the back of the hand and closes on a small buckle, with a keeper that holds the tail flat. It is the only hardware on the glove, and it lets the cuff be adjusted to the wrist rather than stretched over it. Everything else is plain: no logo, no perforation, no contrast stitching.
Sheepskin, as described
The listing names 头层真羊皮毛 — the outer layer of the hide, wool left on — and 加绒 for the lining. We have not tested it and we are not going to repeat a material claim as though we had, so the catalogue says who is claiming it and leaves the lining open. The photographs show a smooth grain with the wool turned inside, which is what the maker says it is.
Five colours, three sizes
The maker photographs each colourway separately, and the five kept here are the five that are photographed: black, dark brown, chestnut, tan and slate grey. Sizes are the maker sizes M, L and XL; the listing publishes no hand measurement against them, so no centimetre figure is invented for this page.

Care
- Wipe with a dry cloth. Leather does not want soap.
- Dry damp gloves flat and away from a radiator — heat stiffens the leather and cracks the finish.
- Store them flat rather than crushed in a pocket; a hard crease in leather stays a crease.
Why we chose it
Because it is the accessory here that is worn rather than carried, because the maker photographs every colour it sells instead of recolouring one frame, and because the leather comes from a glove works that has been making gloves since 1993 — while the material claim is left as the maker describes it instead of being dressed up as ours.
