This is a shirt that kept going: the same parts a shirt has — a collar stand, a button placket, cuffs — drawn out to mid-calf and belted at the waist. The collar is a short stand with a narrow opening cut below it, the shoulder carries a deep yoke with a flap, and the sleeves are wide enough to be gathered into a buttoned tab at the wrist. The cloth is a washed lyocell-linen with slub in it: dry to the hand, soft from the first wear, and creased in a way that reads as the cloth rather than as neglect. Worn open it is a light summer coat; belted and buttoned it is a dress. The stall offers two colours and photographed both. The attribute table names the fibre pair but gives no percentages, so none are claimed here.

A shirt, drawn out to mid-calf

Every part on this piece is borrowed from a shirt — the collar stand, the placket with its small buttons, the cuffs with their buttoned tabs — and then lengthened until it can be worn on its own. That is why it works twice: open over anything in summer as a light coat, closed and tied as a dress.

Washed lyocell-linen

Lyocell is a cellulose fibre made from wood pulp in a closed loop, and the stall names it alongside linen with no percentages. What you can see in the frames is the surface: slub, a dry hand, and creases that fall out slowly. The pair behaves the way the two fibres always do together — lyocell for the drape and the softness, linen for the body.

Two colours, and both were shot

Light grey and chocolate brown, on the same model in the same room. The brown is photographed in a low key, so it reads darker here than it will in daylight; the frames are kept as they are rather than brightened.

Details

  • Colour: Light grey · Chocolate brown — the stall photographs the brown in low light, where it reads nearly black
  • Size: S · M. The stall publishes no measurements: bust, sleeve and length are DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED
  • Material: Lyocell and linen — the pair the stall names in its attribute table (天丝 as the main fibre, 亚麻 as the second). No percentages, no weight and no mill: DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED
  • Fit: Long and loose, cut like a shirt drawn out to mid-calf: a short stand collar over a narrow neck opening, a deep shoulder yoke, a tie belt at the waist and wide sleeves gathered into a buttoned tab at the cuff

Care

  • Wash it cool on a gentle cycle, or by hand, and dry it flat in the shade. Lyocell loses strength when it is wet, so it should not be wrung or hung heavy.
  • Steam it, or iron it damp on the reverse. The creases are part of the cloth; a dry hot iron flattens the slub and leaves a shine.
  • Wash the tie belt with the dress. A belt that ages on its own will not match the body after a season.

Why we chose it

Because it is one garment doing two jobs — a shirt lengthened until it can be worn as a coat or as a dress — and because the stall named both fibres and then photographed both colours instead of listing a range and shooting one.
