Lambskin Whipstitch Glove
Lambskin Whipstitch Glove
A plain leather glove, with one thing done the long way: every seam is closed with a whip stitch rather than run flat through a machine, so the join sits proud of the leather as a raised cord of stitches. It runs the length of each finger, around the thumb and down the cuff, and it is the only decoration on the glove — no perforation, no contrasting thread, no hardware of any kind. The leather is a polished lambskin, which the stall calls 小羊皮真皮 without publishing a thickness or a tannery, so the catalogue quotes the claim and leaves the specification open. The cuff ends at the wrist with a small vent let into the inside, and because there is no strap or buckle the fit is simply the size. The stall lists each colour in a fleece-lined and an unlined build; the lined one is offered here, since a leather glove in winter is a warmth purchase.
The stitch is the product
Every seam on this glove is closed with a whip stitch, worked over the edge so the thread stands up as a cord of its own. It is slower than running the seam flat and it is the reason a plain glove looks like something: the line of stitching follows each finger, crosses the thumb and runs down the cuff, and you can count the stitches in the photographs.
Lined, and why that is a choice
The stall lists every colour twice, 加绒 with a fleece lining and 薄款 without, and photographs one glove of each colour between the two builds — the outside of either looks the same. We offer the lined build, because a leather glove bought for winter is bought for warmth, and we would rather say that plainly than let the photograph imply it.
Five colours listed, three sold
The list runs to five: camel, wine red, black, a milk coffee and a light khaki. Its photographs show four leather tones, and both of the light colours are represented by the same single set of frames, so there is no way to tell which is which. A colour we cannot name is a colour we cannot send, so only the three that map one to one are here.

Care
- Wipe with a dry cloth after wearing. Leather does not want soap.
- Dry damp gloves flat and away from a radiator — heat stiffens the leather and cracks the finish.
- Store them flat rather than crushed in a pocket; a hard crease in leather stays a crease.
Why we chose it
Because the whip stitch is a hand operation on a glove that costs less than a taxi across the city, and because the stall shot all three colours on one model in one light instead of pasting them onto a template.
