Checked Longline Coat

A coat cut straight and single-breasted, falling to mid-thigh with wide notched lapels and flapped pockets, in a brushed check cloth. The check is the same in all four colourways — a large windowpane over a ground — and each one changes the coat completely: forest green with a faint rust overcheck, a grey that reads almost as a suit, wine, and a cobalt that is the loudest thing in this batch. The stall files the cloth as 呢子, which is a word for a brushed woollen-feel cloth rather than a fibre, and prints no percentage anywhere; the entry claims the brushing and says nothing about wool content.
